Fun things to do with kids in Adelaide

a family pause from their surf lesson for a family photo

As a father to 2 kids, I understand how full on it can be juggling work, school, holidays, sport, finances, childcare - well the list goes on and on. Trying to find a list of fun things to do with Kids in Adelaide can be tricky.

Keeping the kids busy and off of the digital devices is a challenge so here are a few great ideas for kid-friendly activities in Adelaide.

Adelaide is a great family-friendly location and only 1 hour from Adelaide is the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula. It is close to town and host to so many awesome adventure experiences that will not only help you keep the kids entertained - but will offer great ways for you to bond with them as well.

1 Surf Groms

Check out this surf groms programs run by Surf & Sun-  a company that offers affordable surf schools Adelaide, Middleton and Moana. A grass roots surf program for 5-12 year old kids.

2 Bike riding on the Encounter bikeway

Our partner Surf & Sun has a fleet of modern Bikes for hire from Middleton. If you want to experience riding along the Encounter Bike Track between Victor Harbor and Goolwa, check our bike hire information here!

3 Surf Lessons

Why not take up a family surf lesson with Mum, Dad and the 2 kids! This is a great option to keep the kids entertained and to do a healthy activity with the whole family. Check out Surf & Sun's website for more information!

4 Big Duck Boat tour

Jump on board the Big Duck for a 45minute or 1.5 hour boat tour from Victor Harbor. This is perfect for seeing wildlife and in winter time the whales! For details, check out our boat adventure tour information here!

5 Bushwalking

Getting out for a hike is a great way to enjoy time together. A couple of my favourite places are Deep Creek and one of the many hikes available OR walking up the Bluff to see the views of Victor Harbor.

Whatever your preference, the Fleurieu Peninsula has loads of things to do for kids around Adelaide so get out and explore!
